Sleigh bells ring, are you listening? With Christmas just around the corner, we can’t resist dressing up our munchkins in the cutest seasonal wear. This time of year brings out some of the most adorable outfits and sweetest slogans in beautiful red, blue and white hues. So, what styles should we keep an eye out for this Christmas?
This year, we love minimalist red and mustard pieces, paired with seasonal accessories. Not only do these outfits look adorable, if you take away the festive additions, but they can also be worn all year ‘round if you choose the right bits and bobs to piece together. Here are our top baby clothes to keep an eye on.
For convenience
Nothing says Christmas like a festive-red piece. At the moment, we’re all about baby rompers in festive colours – like our Adele romper in ditsy red floral. If you want your baby clothes to be worn more than a few times over this period, why not opt for a piece that isn’t too Christmassy? Perfect for keeping up that adorable appeal for their Santa photos, and keeping things functional at the same time.
When shopping for baby rompers, though, be sure to look at whether they’re an all-in-one piece or if they are more nappy-changing friendly. This will save you a lot of time at the changing table. Trust us.
For the bottoms
If you prefer shorts or nappy covers for your bub, a statement coloured piece is the way to go. A pair of mustard or floral bottoms paired with a cute white blouse is a comfortable, ideal outfit that’s both smart and not too over-the-top. Shorts and nappy covers are an excellent option for those who want outfits that can be worn all year round – they even look adorable with tights.
Choosing an outfit that isn’t overly festive doesn’t mean you can’t dress them up to be, either. Go all out on the Christmas accessories – such as hair bows and bibs – to jazz things up, and still get long-term wear out of the primary outfit throughout the year. If you prefer a more minimalist look, choose one accessory matched to the colour of the bottoms, to tie it all together.
For the snaps
If you’re looking to complete the perfect outfit for this year’s Santa photos, opt for a baby bow – both for the hair or as a tie.
Not only are these a cuteness overload, but they’re also a great way to top off any outfit. Match your choice of bow to the outfit or even go for a festive flair with reindeer and snowflakes. For the girls, choose stretchy headbands types – these are suitable for newborns and toddlers, and provide more comfort and stability. Now, say cheese!
For the family lunch
And then there’s the big feast. It’s likely this will be a messy ordeal, so you’ll want to keep your baby’s clothes safe from possible marks and stains. Although a bib is something you use all year round, opt for a festive twist when choosing a design. We love our adorable vintage Alimrose Designs bibs that come in three different styles. Made with high-quality linen, they’re equipped with absorbent backing, a red striped border and the ability to be machine-washed. Perfect.
