The Love Henry Story

Chrystal Henry (Campbell) relocated from her family’s cotton property to pursue a career as a high-end fashion designer in Brisbane. After studying for two years, she went to designing and fabricating bridal couture. She soon decided that she wanted a more creative outlet for her fashion endeavours. Deciding that the design and production of fun, colourful childrenswear was the way to go, she began making baby clothes and selling them at local markets.

The clothes Chrystal produced got such an amazing reception from local parents that she could barely keep up with the demand of sewing them herself. Incorporating the Love Henry name into her production, her collection found a number of stockists across the country.

Soon, however, the popularity of Love Henry caused Chrystal to rapidly expand her business. ‘Attending the trade shows are by far my favourite part of the business. I get to network and interact with stockists new and old and hear the positive hype around the brand. It is so uplifting I also love seeing other brands meeting the people behind them. Most of them are mums just like me!’ Chrystal said.

In 2012, Chrystal made the big move back to the cotton property in rural Queensland. ‘The best thing about the business I have created is that I can be flexible with my hours and my location,’ she said. ‘This helps juggle family and work life, but getting the balance right can be a task for a lot of mothers.’
