So, how does Afterpay actually work?

Afterpay is a bit like a take home lay-by.  It is an additional payment option available too you during the checkout process.  This method is subject to approval by Afterpay.

 

Afterpay offers Australian customers the ability to purchase goods and then pay off in four equal fortnightly payments. All you need is a debit or credit card for instant approval.

The best part is, approval occurs at the time of checkout, so no delays.  Following this, your order is packed and shipped to you as a part of our normal dispatch process.  You can have your goodies in as little as 1hr for click and collect orders, or 24hrs for shipped orders.

Using Afterpay Online at Elle J

Browse and add items to your shopping cart as you normally would.  When you proceed to checkout you will be asked to complete your contact information and confirm your shipping method and on the final screen you will be given the option to choose Afterpay as your payment method.  Upon confirming your order you will be transferred to the Afterpay site for approval.

Using Afterpay In-store at Elle J

To use Afterpay in-store you will need to pre-register your details with Afterpay.  To then make a purchase in-store you will need to log-in to Afterpay via the phone app and obtain an Afterpay in-store barcode.  This barcode is then scanned at point of sale.

For in-store purchases Afterpay usually require the first payment to be debited from your registered account at time of purchase.  The remaining balance is then deducted fortnightly.

Are there any fees or minimum spend?

There is a minimum spend of $50 both in-store and online.  Afterpay is completely free if you make your payments on time.  Late fees may apply to missed payments.  We as the retailer pay fees to offer this service to our customers.
